What is a Grid tie Solar PV System?


A grid tie solar PV system is a power generation system that converts solar energy into electrical energy and directly connects it to the public power grid.

1. Composition of the grid tie solar PV system


The grid tie solar PV system mainly consists of the following parts:

2. Working principle of On-Grid solar photovoltaic system


The working principle of On-Grid solar photovoltaic system is relatively simple and clear:


Solar panels receive sunlight and generate DC power.


DC power is combined and protected by lightning protection junction box and DC lightning protection distribution cabinet.


The inverter converts DC power into AC power.


The AC distribution cabinet connects the AC power output by the inverter to the public power grid.


3. Classification of On-Grid solar photovoltaic system


On-Grid solar photovoltaic system can be divided into two types: centralized On-Grid and decentralized grid-connected:


(1) Centralized On-Grid: The generated power is directly transmitted to the large power grid, which is uniformly allocated by the large power grid to supply power to users. This method is suitable for large photovoltaic power stations, which are usually far away from the load point.


(2) Decentralized On-Grid: The generated power is directly distributed to the power load, and the excess or insufficient power is adjusted by connecting to the large power grid. This method is suitable for small-scale photovoltaic power generation systems, usually urban photovoltaic power generation systems.
